Hi!
Is there a hotkey to make a selection over a clip in the timeline? I have a timeline consisting of several clips and would like to create a gap bfx right above one of the clips. Right now I am just going to the first and last frame above the clip and making a cut. Is there a faster way to do this?

You could try the following:
1. Make sure the vertical focus of the positioner is on the empty track
2. Select the segment (or contiguous segments) on the track below
3. Use the "Cut Around Selection" shortcut
The shortcut is:
ALT-X in the Flame profile
ALT-Delete in the Smoke Classic profile
Shift-V in the Smoke (FCP) profile
