16bit psd file import crash. Showstopper

Bug report:

 

Try to import 5120x1770 photoshop psd file, saved as flat (no layers) 16 bit file. AdobeRGB profile. Importing and adding to connect fx causes system to crash, unrecoverable. Hard shutdown needed.

 

Works fine if I convert 8bit before importing.

32GB RAM
MAC OS X 10.8.3
