How to implement a Rail-Shooter (à la Star Fox) with Stingray Engine?

I'm at University learning animation/modeling with Maya and I just discovered the Stingray Engine along with the Cat-Fu game kit. Stingray's clean interface and easy integration of Maya assets are attractive features. However, I am not a programmer and tutorials for Flow visual scripting are limited, which isn't surprising considering Stingray is new tech. I'm working on a project for learning/portfolio purposes and was hoping I could get some advice or resources on how to make a Rail-Shooter in same vein as Star Fox or Panzer Dragoon using Flow. Also, how would I incorporate an aiming system that consisted of a reticle that could lock on to more than one enemy while holding down the attack button? The project isn't overly ambitious, yet rather simple which is why I'm utilizing the rail-shooter genre to showcase my work and abilities. Any feedback would be extremely helpful. Thanks!
