Make "Capture Postion" the default when creating joints between components.

When working on an assembly, it is necessary to move components around.  If one then tries to create a joint, a window pops up informing the user that "Some components have been moved" (by the user, presumably, on purpose); this window has a default option of "Continue", which moves everything back to where it had been (possibly out of view); the other option is "Capture Position", which allows the user to begin creating the joint from where he has put the components.  Making "Capture Position" the default seems (to me) like what the user would expect and want.  It probably won't save a lot of time once one figures out the work flow, unless one unthinkingly hits Return and loses his components...

Exactly what I was thinking! This pop up wasn't there few months ago. They added it in one of their updates. (don't exactly know why)

We are actually planning to remove the position prompt altogether when creating a joint.  This will allow you to drag components out the the way and create joints without concern for component position.

This is pretty high in our backlog, but I'm moving it to Future Consideration until we begin work.

Thanks,

Charles

Still interested in eliminating the capture position prompt, there is already a capture position a button that is voluntary so users can use it if needed.

Also get that prompt when copy/paste components. I wish I could disable the prompt for any reason.

Thanks!.

So it's been 4 years.  What is the status on this?  I shouldn't have to push a yes, capture this position, every single time I free move something.  Or move something period.  How is this extra, push this button better?

it's not.  It's a time waster.

Okay.
