Hold shift to constrain horizontal/vertical dragging of sketch element

I'd like to be able to hold SHIFT whild dragging a sketch elelement to contrain the dragging motion. Not to be confuse with adding a horizontal/vertical constraint.

That can pose a conflict with the navigation!

Thank you for your idea, this idea is getting archived due to the nature in which we use modifier keys.  Holding shift already is used to rotate a model and since there are users that like to sketch in 3D removing this ability to add the function in your idea would cause confusion.
