Color coded fillets when using multiple selections

Color coded fillets when using multiple selections

When using and modifying multiple selections within one fillet command it is difficult to tell which fillets are assigned to which, how many edges selected, and where exactly are the edges (sometimes its hard to see tiny selections). It would be nice to have each fillet size selection color coded or numbered etc.

Creative thinking!  I've encountered the same situation and it never really crossed my mind to do something about it and this seems like a simple way to do it.

Just a bit more to share...

Once I select the set of edges to a certain fillet size, I rarely need to modify the selection. But, during my work-flow, what I do often is that I would need to go back in the history of the fillet and adjust the "fillet size" depending on design. And this is where I think productivity can be improved instead of spending time to figure out what edge is assigned to what size fillet, or which edges is the arrow trying to point to...

It would be great if I can just open up the history, and the list of fillet size and selection is already graphically shown whether by color/numbered etc and I can just refine and edit the fillet sizes quickly. and if needed, i can scroll through each fillet selections in the dialog box, and at the same time in the modeling window, the camera would zoom in or frame the selected edges on the fly. This way, I don't even need to search around or spend time repositioning my camera view. Thus saving more time!

Since we are at the topic about fillets, there are 2 more areas I think can be improved for productivity and better design.

1) When making radius, there are 2 types. Engineering radius, and design radius. I feel like Fusion 360 is about blending design and engineering into one, and produce better design in a shorter amount of time. Therefore, it's about time we stop limiting ourselves to the "circlar radius". It creates a very cold and machine-like feeling. Emotional products and scupltures rarely use it, yet we seem to limit ourselves to it when in the computer-generated world. If you include lead-in or bias type of radius, everyone in the fusion comunnity will create more natural and emotion design... It's these type of detials in design that makes products with soul. And exactly what t-splines are doing to traditional surfacing...

2) Sometimes when you rearrange the history, certain fillet commands turn red or yellow. Most of the time it's an easy fix (you simplely have to reselect the new or adjusted edges). But the problem is, sometimes you have so many fillets, you don't remember what the fillet was for... So I would have to either undo until I can access the fillet before it turned red to see what was the selection or values. Or I have to open another file and compare them to find that info. It would be great that each time there is an error, a "before and after" screen shot of the model, selections, and values can be shown. This could be applied to many different commands as well a quick way to fix history (instead of trying to read all the popup messages). A picture is worth a thousand words 😃

Let me know if I need to sumit the last two again as a seperate post, and sorry for the delayed response. Hope it helps! And lastly, keep up the great job guys.
