Adaptive toolbars

Adaptive toolbars

Hi,

I would like to be able to adapt my toolbars depending on the work that is currently being done.

The reason is, when doing a sketch for example I want to have a toolbar with the tools I usually require for completing sketching tasks (lines, arc, ...), but when I step out of the sketch there is no reason to still have those buttons visible.

We are considering some user interface revisions that are very much in line with your request.  No work has been started yet, but a solution is under discussion.  Marking this as a Future Consideration until the project becomes more formalized.

Thanks,

Charles

Nice and very useful, time saving idea! It would be very useful to add an option for lets call it an "advanced toolbar", where your most used options will automatically be shown when you are in the correct mode. For example, if you are in sketch mode, it will hide all options which are useless for editing a sketch but therefore it displays all sketch options, like in the picture shown above.

I think this is a must have feature essentially when you are using Fusion daily!

Two years are gone and there are over 50 upvotes! This is more than other already implemented ideas! When will it get 'Accepted'??

Still waiting for it and there are so many viewers of my tutorial videos asking especially for this feature to get implemented!

Are there any updates or news @haughec@brianrepp so far?

Great timing, @Anonymous!  We're actually starting our initial implementation of a tabbed toolbar this week.  Our intention is to combine Model, Patch, Sculpt & Sheet Metal into a single workspace with tabs to represent each.  Sketch will also have its' own tab.  We will share videos as work progresses to get feedback from the community.  Stay tuned!

Thanks,

Charles

Any news so far! @haughec @brianrepp

We waited already more than 3 years for this feature. It cant be to hard to be implemented.

Please make sure to also think of different screen resolutions and also accept the following ideas, because i think they are very related.

/adjustable-width-length-for-window-panels-palettes-4k-monitor

/fusion-360-support/blurry-text-and-icons-on-high-dpi-display-4k/

We're working on a new UI preview that is going to address some of the pain points you described here, especially around Sketch. @Anonymous - would you like to participate in a usability feedback session?
