Multi Page DWF and Hyperlinks

Ive got a DWF with 80 odd pages that ive loaded into freewheel all work well. But the hyperlinks that transfer from one page into another pages within the same DWF do not work. I have read somewhere this was a know problem and Autodesk might look at a fix, has this been done?

Also a blog had a work around by using HTML does any one know if this works and how to achieve it?

I am under the impression that no hyperlinks work in Project Freewheel.

1. You can create hyperlinks in your designs using our design applications.
2. When you use one of our design applications (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor,
Revit) to publish your design as a DWF, the hyperlinks get stored in the DWF
file.
3. When you load the DWF in Autdoesk Design Review, you can click on
hyperlinks in the DWF file and Design Review will navigate you to the
desired location.
3. When you load the DWF in Autdoesk Freewheel or Project Freewheel, the
hyperlinks are still in the DWF file but Freewheel will NOT navigate you to
the desired location. Freewheel ignores the hyperlinks at this time. This is
something we can consider for a future update.

Hi again, My company has really got behind using design review software and including them into web pages, BUT the fact you can't select hyperlinks when using freewheel to jump from sheet to sheet without scrolling through the drop-down list or opening link to say other web pages is really disappointing.

We have a number of clients that like the system without having to downloading and install the software, hyperlinks are holding back the progress and up take of this type of system. Iam been forced by my boss's to look into other manufactures software that can enable hyperlinks on a web based system. This would be a shame.

Is AutoDesk going to look into this or do you have an other system that can be viewed on a website?

At this time we are not actively making changes to the Project Freewheel technology preview. AutoCAD WS is our collaboration system based around DWG. We may come back to Project Freewheel in the future.

One thing AutoCAD WS does not do well is dynamically point to a URL where the DWG (or DWF) is hosted.  If I have a dynmaically created DWF (from MapGuide), I was able to use FREEWHEEL to view that DWF on Macs and Safari etc.

Now I always wanted Markup in Freewheel.

AutoCAD WS has markups but no dynamicly rendered DWG or DWF capability like FREEWHEEL did.  It's a big hole.  Hyperlinks are also key.

http://freewheel.labs.autodesk.com has markups if you start a sharing/collaboration session.

Thanks,  I found the markup.  I just have to figure out how to dynamically post the URL to the site and enable redline.

Now, if only it supported hyperlinks like AutoCAD does...
