Wish List - Finishes

Have you considered making the Life Cycle Years field in the finish details tab a field similar to the Unit Replacement Cost field in which you get the following message: "Do you wish to update all associates records?"

Anytime we update that record, we want all associated replacement dates throughout the database to change as well. This gives a lot of "what if" capabilities that aren't there out of the box right now. We could then change the life cycle value and see how that affects the annual finish replacement cost projections.

Currently, it is updating the Anticipated Life Cycle field in assocated records without the prompt.

If you need more specific details, feel free to contact me.

Joshua,

I think your suggestion definitely makes sense and could be useful. 😄

I also wanted to let you know that the Autodesk User Group forum has a
"wishlist" area for FMDesktop product wishes... so they don't get lost
in the shuffle of technical questions, etc. (I know, we don't exactly
have a barrage here like all of the other products do 😜 , but,
still... just wanted to make sure you knew it was there)

Melanie,

Thanks! I know Mark seems to be pretty active in here and I wasn't sure if AUGI took FMDesktop wishes. I'll make sure I post there as well.

Joshua,

Thanks!

We *didn't* take FMDesktop wishes... until I started beating up the
Forum Manager about it. 😜 (it's okay, he's my husband, I can do that
sort of thing).

I know Mark, and some of the other FMD team members, do try to keep
active with all three forums (here, AUGI and FMDUGI)... but, I like to
think that our product users will become more active and I want AUGI to
be prepared for when that happens. 😉

Cheers!

I think you make a couple of good points here. I'll put them on the list for future enhancements. It can't make it into the current cycle, but it won't be long before we're picking enhancements for the following cycle.
