Autodesk University 2006

Any FM folks have feedback about Autodesk University? We'd like to hear your thoughts while they are fresh. Did you see any sessions that you would specifically like to see repeated or expanded upon? Any topics that you would like to see at next year's event?

Statistically, this was again the biggest AU ever, with over 6,000 attendees. With respect to the FM sessions, there were almost 1,000 person-sessions pre-registered. Actual attendance was higher at some, lower at some. The FM attendance was up 67% over last year.

Let us know your thoughts. Or submit a topic when the call for papers opens.

I attended AutoCAD University 2006 and was currently employed by an Engineering company that did HVAC, Electrical and Piping drawings, so my classes were tailored to that, and some Revit for future projects. I just started at another company using Autodesk FM. I am learing a lot about the software but would like more information about it. If I can justify going to AU 07, there would need to be access to several classes and networking with FM individuals. I will be keeping a lookout for future notices on this, since I learned a lot at AU 06.

Cool. Fresh FM blood! 🙂

Course proposals are being submitted until the end of this month (only a
couple of more days left)... I'm sure after that, the team that
organizes the classes will be reviewing/approving/scheduling, etc the
final schedule.

I'm not sure when exactly it will go live... but, keep in mind... AUGI
members get to see it first. 😉 So, I hope you have your free membership
at AUGI.com so you can get first dibs.

I think there ended up being 13 classes last year for FM.
There were orginally 14, and one was cancelled, if I recall correctly.

the last few paragraphs of /\ that post were some stats, impressions and
speculation. 😉

*I* for one am really looking forward to it. I'm keeping my fingers
crossed for some more FMD classes, hopefully including some labs.

Unless something changes drastically, there should be around 14 sessions related generally to FM in the AEC "college." Probably a majority of them will relate to the FMDesktop product.
