Hi All,
New to this lovely forum and hoping someone can explain what the _auto_backup files in /user/discreet/clips do? I just got to grips with restoring backups by renaming clibs in the .prj folder and i'm just very curious.
Many Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jack,
To answer your questions, Flame creates periodic backups of the project metadata. Those backups are saved in the AUTO_BACKUP directory.
You can roll back a project backup when something goes wrong with the project.
To do so, you have to extract the project metadata or workspace metadata from the backup tar file and then swapped the current files (located in /usr/discreet/clip/[partition]/[project] with the ones coming from the backup.
Please note that you have to be really careful with these file manipulation as it may result in a loss of data (if the incorrect files are overwritten or deleted).
We understand that this does not apply for the training edition but we do suggest our commercial users to contact our technical support department when they have to do such of manipulations (as a matter of safety).
Please let me know if it answers your questions,
Regards,
Yann
