Hello there,
will it be possible to use the 2D portion of the 3D assets as a dynamic block?
Is this possible? I think starting the layout in 2D could give us speed benefits
and syncing to Inventor will enable us to do 3D views for example.
Perhaps I just missed an very important lesson in FDS and this already works.
Kind regards
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
I don't quite understand what you mean. Could you please explain more?
Thanks,
-Xuesong
Hello Xuesong,
I simply would like to know if I can acess the parameters of the assets
done in Inventor within AutoCAD to get more performance out of my
computer.
I would start in 2D and place all the assets in AutoCAD as well as setting
the key parameters values in AutoCAD already. Is this possible? I saw
AutoCAD blocks with handles that allowed you to simply drag a convey-
or to the desired length. I would not need to drag the points but simply
type in the right values in a property window.
HI hope this explanation is better 😄
Thanky in advance
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Currently it is not possible to set the parameters in AutoCAD as in Inventor.
However, if the asset are defined as Variant Asset when you publish to factory library, you can select the asset member in AutoCAD.
Thanks,
-Xuesong
Ah thank you Xuesong, nevertheless has Autodesk
planned anything like that? Would be handy I think.
Kind regards
Daniel
