Protection of the library elements and the library itself

Hello there,

one important question turned into an issue lately.

How are we to protect the assets as they are pro-

perty of my employer? I can easily remove all tra-

ces from an asset turning it into my "own" object.

Can I add a line to the header to make it harder to

remove a copyright or protection notice? Are there

any publishing options which give me the opportu-

nity to protect my work better?

Kind regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Are the assets protected in internal? Or you will share the asset with your customers outside?

Thanks,

-Xuesong

Please mark as a solution if somehow I got it right.

Hi Daniel,

I think you can import the whole project model into Naviswork and publish it as NWD with password and expires data.

So your customers can review the model with free version Navisworks.

Thanks,

-Xuesong

Hello Xuesong,

I am looking for a way to protect or at least mark

the assets not unlike DRM as seen in music files.

Kind regards

Daniel

Hi,

I've never heard of anyone doing this. Typically, people use Shrinkwrap to remove details and create a solid.

You should ask this question on the Inventor newgroup.

Hello Loren,

the models are already simplified therefore it´s not their technology data

we care about. I´t just the fact that we don´t want to see how our assets

are used by persons not allowed to do so.

I hashed all of the objects already to identify them as they are not altered

fundamentally.

Is there no tool in existence which imprints my employers logo as metadata

for example? I would hide it in the header, but resaving would render this use-

less.

A digital watermark would also do.

Kind regards

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with Inventor. I have installed Inventor 2014 and I can not migrate the Content Center from Inventor 2013. I can not migrate the custom libreries. Do you have the answer?

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for reporting, we haven't met such issue before, could you provide the custom library you use for our investigation?

Regards,

Amanda
