Problems with the pit

Hello there,

we´ve been encountering problems when placing parts orr sub- assemblies into

a pit in Factory again. Even though snap to floor is disabled FDS crashes as soon as

we try to place anything. Using normal constraining options work, but as soon as we

insert parts directly it crashes. I think that happens because of the landing surface

definition of the assets. Probably Inventors definition of the surface is closely connec-

ted to the standard floor.

We´ve not been having theese issues for quite some time, because we switched to

simply place the parts relative to a floor we created on our own, not the floor in Facto-

ry.

We will try to alter the elevation in AutoCAD too, but there might be a solution already,

therefore I ask.

If you like to I can do a video of our approach, perhaps a solution is more obvious then.

Kind regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I remembered that you have sent me the sample file to reproduce  the issue before.

That is related to Inventor itself. The issue is still in the backlog. Our developer is looking for the solution now.

Thanks,

-Xuesong

Please mark as a solution if somehow I got it right.

Hello Xuesong,

thanks for the answer- I tried to find the correspondence

but it looks like I archived the mail some time ago, therefore

I had to repost the issue.

Kind regards

Daniel

Hello there,

after inserting the asset I unckecked "honor floor" and it did not crash.

Perhaps I should be reading some manual for the next three weeks...

Kind regards

Daniel
