Network licence setup

Hello there,

finally I am moving to 2015. I wonder if it is possible to change the licence server

after installing the network licence? Is there a flexLM somewhere? I did not mana-

ge to find it rightaway.

It staff´s not available today.

Kind regards

Daniel

Hello, Daniel,

By our understanding, the network license file is generated by the inforamtion with the server's Host ID and mac adress, so you'd better to connect your channel if there is possibility to regenerate the license file with new server.

And then you may shutdown or disconnect the old server, when launch application, there is dialogue says the license server can not be found, you can input new license server name.

thanks,

Irene

Hi Daniel,

If you want to transfer network license from one server to another, please cotact with your channel if there is possibility to regenerate the license file with new server.

If you just to want to disconnect your client computer with old licenser server and connect with another license server, please change server name in "LICPATH.LIC" file (You could search the file through windows search.).  And clear value data for value HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/FLEXlm License
Manager/ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE.

Let me know if you need any additional help:)

Thanks,

Sucy

Hello Irene,

thanks for the info. Currently the server states that there is no valid

licence the network licence manager was able to obtain. I am sure

something went wrong when setting up the server in the first place.

The admins will surely spend quality time to set it up right soon.

The licence file aready is available and it´s compliant to our demands.

Kind regards

Daniel

Hello Guosu,

just came back from vacation - so sorry you had to wait.

That´s good news already, I appreciate this functionality.

LICPATH-LIC -.-* and the registry value, I´ll have a look for

this, for both of them and check back with IT, if the set-

tings are already correct.

Kind regards

Hello there,

it was simple in the end. The license server was set up correctly.

We did not keep in mind to update the server as well, we just

used the new licence file. After we did set up it aknew, everything

was running fine.

I was a little surprised when I was not able to use 2014 and 2015

paralelly on the same machine, different computers yes- but the

same machine.

The serial number differs a little, but it seems to be just another

iteration of the number assigned for 2015 and therefore used.

Kind regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

We are very glad to hear that the issue has resolved. Thank you for your feedback and enjoy our products.

Besides, some products 2014 and 2015 indeed can't be used paralelly on the same machine. Hope it will not affect anything.

Best regards,

Sucy
