Hello there,
it seems like an easy step but I´m not getting
AutoCAD to edit Inventor´s DWG output from
an idw file open to edit it in AutoCAD. I´m ex-
perimenting with it right now to make it happen.
Is there a predefined workflow already that I
might have missed out? I would need to acess
the geometry directly to add dimensions ect.
I already thought about saving to an old format
to get rid of the blocks.
Kind regards
Daniel

Hello there, it´s solved 🙂
It´s quite simple, got it together after
some tries and even found a web
source.
Open you Inventor DWG in AutoCAD,
change to model view and use the
“Insert” command as under “Block”.
From the dropdown of the appearing win-
dow you now can select the views as present
in the model space as blocks.
Once inserted you can explode the blocks if
you need to and edit all of the geometry as
you wish to.
In a final step delete the sheet with the inven-
tor views.
Hope this works for you
1- .idw file opened with Inventor.
2- Mouse on "Save As".
3- Select "Save Copy As".
4- Select "AutoCAD DWG Files (*.dwg)".
5- "Save".
6- You are done.
Please confirm if OK.
