how to pattern a color

How do you pattern a color?  I'm altering this existing Creform Placon Conveyor Factory Asset.  When I pattern the roller lanes the color does not come through on some of the lanes.

Unfortrunately, feature colors are not copied when you pattern. I'll report the issue. To work around this, you can create a pattern of the rollers and set the pattern to the desired color, and do the same for the side rails.

Thanks,

Hello there,

this is not entirely right I guess... no offence...

given this is a single volume body, you can pattern the assigned colours.

Simply change the mode of the pattern (also works with mirroring ect.)

to volume body and the colours are copied alongside the geometry. This

is very handy when you consider dividing your objects into multiple parts.

I´ve attached some screenshots depicting how it works. It´s not that easy

to split up bodys lateron, but when you´re designing a new part, it abso-

lutely makes sense to consider the extra time you would be spending as

you assign new appearances.

Hope this helps

Kind regards

Hello there,

glad it helped. I meddled with the very same problem some year ago.

I never thought of this behaviour as a bug and got used to it 🙂

Kind regards

Daniel
