We currently enjoy the use of an education subscription package (North West Kent College), an assignment has arisen involving the layout of conveyors in a process plant simulation, any ideas how we can achieve this? Chris.
Hi,
They are planning on making the 2014 Factory Design Suite available to students and educators, but I don't know when it will be released.
It is pretty straightforward to create a conveyor layout in inventor or AutoCAD. If you don't want to create your own models, you should be able to find conveyor models on various manufacturer and CAD websites.
I might add that the Factory Design Suite comes with
many conveors out of the box already and using them
to lay out a process plant surely is possible. And there
are numerous cloud assets you can put to good use too.
If you need info in general, feel free to conact me. I did
many a lot of conveyors for our factory library and- even
if I can´t share them with you- can probably give you ad-
vice.
Oh and Loren is right, TGW for example, an Austrian firm
with a great website, offers many videos and pictures of
plants and machinery, as well as some technical data.
They surely will give you a good impression.
And I certainly can recommend http://www.us.viastore.com/,
it´s the firm I am working for. I did not mean to advertise ;).
Kind regards
Daniel
