I am trying to set up Ecotect to work with Rhino and finally connect them both via scripts for early design optimization via parametric models. I prepared all interfaces for extended calculations via scripts in both programs. The greatest problem I have is that Ecotect does not calculate the necessary volumes for analysis with imported geometry. I tried all possible exchange formats and different settings – I am pretty much clue less what else to try. I am not even able to import a simple box correctly. I was so close … If there was an option to import the volume via script for each model, that would also be a solution. But I could't find the correct scripting command either.

I suggest you give attention to surface normals, element types and model scale, if they are not right you can not get right volume.
