Hi,
In fact, Ecotect already supports most IFC 2x2 and 2x3 entities. If you select 'File » Open...' and choose 'Files of Type: Industry Foundation Classes (*.IFC)', you should be able to get a fair representation of pretty well any IFC model.
You may have to experiment a bit with the settings at the bottom of the dialog and how material are assigned. If you right-click in the Materials list, there a several options for assigning materials based on exactly what data is available in the file. For example, you can usually choose between Material Name, Element Type, Element Name or assigned PropertySet.
Unfortunatey Ecotect does not export to IFC.
Hope that helps...
Kind regards,
Andrew
