Glare anomalies from Radiance

Hi,

I'm working on a study of glare from a reflective building that may effect approaching drivers and I'm getting some strange messages from Radiance.

The process I'm using through the glare study is:
- render images using Radiance from an ecotect model
- use a false colour rendering to display the regions of highest luminance
- run 'glare' via Radiance from Cygwin, setting the luminance threshold from the false colour rendering to locate the glare sources and calculate field luminance (I'm using Cygwin as I couldn't use xglaresrc from Radiance CP)

So, the issues I'm having are:
- findglare returns the glare sources and then displays "findglare: warning -- missing 78% of samples". Why is this and does if have a significant impact on the results?
- I'm getting very high field luminace values, much higher than I would expect.
- Is there any way of checking the field luminance that is calculated by Radiance?

Please find the pic file attached. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

John

Hello
"findglare: warning -- missing 78% of samples" is not very important, I think it is because: view angle you assigned in glare is larger than the horizontal view angle of your picture files, so you should render a wider angle view picture to give to findglare.
You can run findglare with the rtrace option to get the luminance you want.
