When I want to import a gbXML file in ECOTECT 2011 - (created in REVIT 2013), I get this message:
"WARNING: IFC support is only at beta stage in this release. Whilst detailed geometry should import, ifcSpace data and complex curves may not transform correctly"
And it does import nothing (0 spaces, 0 surfaces, 0 ...)
What's the problem? How can this be solved?
Thank you
I have the exact same problem. It is something to do with Revit 2013 as I never had any problems importing from Revit 2012.
This is still not working for me can I get a step by step instruction please? What do I do once I open the gbXML in notepad onwards? I still receive an error message in ecotect.
Thanks!
Hi I am facing the same problem (IFC Warning while importing "revit 13 exported gbXML file" to Ecotect)...Plz help
All,
Indeed, Revit 2013 started using a different gbxml file format that can no longer be read by Ecotect.
Another alternative to manually modifying the gbxml file is to use this online converter:
http://www.fileformat.info/convert/text/utf2utf.htm
All that needs to be done is upload the gbxml file from Revit 2013 and click the Convert button.
The converted gbxml file should now be readable by Ecotect.
It has worked for me consistently.
I hope it helps some of you.
