edit: its a shading device, better do not include it into your building zone because it would act as a fin, means getting more heat out or in, because of its bigger surface.
Then you need Ecotect climate date for wherever the building is or nearby. Old Ecotoect forum has info on where to get, how to plug it in, lalala, also Ecotect has climate data for several places built in.
Than you need to do the thermal analysis and voala, flick trough the results, shiny graphs. But its good if you know what you going to expect, sometimes the results are a bit strange, have to check material properties then.
