Smoke popping off - autoresize suddenly small.

I'm having some problems with my smokeSim.

link is here.

The auto resize is chopping off my smoke. At first it just chopps off peaks from the smoke, but halfway you can see it cuts off the a significant amount of the smoke trail.

I know the threshold and substeps can sometimes cut off smoke that's expanding too rapidly, but I don't understand why it would cut off the entire smoketrail...

Any idea?

Thanks

Your dissipation value is too high?? You can tweak it....

OR..

in Auto Resize menu..
Increase the max resolution value (e.g. - 1200-1500)
Auto Resize Threshold = 0
Auto Resize Margin = 2 - 5

It should work in your scene... I tested in my system its working fine.

Good luck!

Cheers

but I don't understand why it would cut off the entire smoketrail...

Suppose Auto Resize Margin value is 2, then set density emission sec as 2.1 or 2.5 thats why u r losing smoketrail

Because your dissipation value is high.. And due to less max resolution
value container is not getting enough time and space to simulate fluid
properly.

Can you upload your file? It would be much easier to find out what is wrong.

Thanks

I am not allowed to upload any attachments, office firewall issues. Can you share your file? I will check it out and let you know which values are bothering your simulation.

Thanks
Sumit
