Hello all.
I'm animating a sensor with a cord. It's built as high-resolution geometry wrapped with low-res nCloth objects.
The cord on the sensor needs to be fairly firm in flexibility but still slightly bendable.
Example, if you were to hold the cord with the sensor at the end, it would bend over, but only bend. No folds in the cord. Like having a long, thin wooden dowel with a weight at the end and swinging it gently back and forth.
It's simple to make it flexible...but adding the rigidity I need is proving very problematic.
See the attached series of images.
I've tried several combinations of preset materials. None of these (or combinations there-of) seem to deliver the desired results.
I've adjusted the rigidity, the deform resistance, restitution settings, bend angle dropoff...
I've messed with the dynamic constraint connection Max Distance, it's connection strength...
It all adds rigidity but the cord still flops around near its connection point.
Nothing seems to be what I need.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what else I could try?
Thanks in advance.
Jeff
