Component Editor keeps resetting itself?

Hi,

I'm trying to make curtains sway in Maya, I have already animated them to move, but every time I go to my Component Editor and set the 'goal PP' of my particles to '0.250' then play the animation, every time the animation loops or I press rewind to go to the beginning of the animation, the Component Editor keeps resetting the 'goalPP' to '1'.

I am a student trying to learn in Maya, so I'm probably doing something stupid.

If anyone knows how I can fix this problem I'd really appreciate it.
