Bifrost - pouring liquid?

I set up a sphere (which will emit the liquid), and a container (collider). When I select the sphere (which has transforms frozen etc) and go to bifrost menu...create liquid. The liquid container box which appears does not surround the sphere, but appears at 0,0,0 on the grid. Why is this happening? Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for posting to The Area Forums.

I have tested this in a brand new scene and I have not been able to replicate.

Would you be able to send me steps to replicate the issue?

If you don't have the lastet Service Pack of Maya 2015, be sure to download and install it from the following link:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-maya-2015-servi...

If you are on Windows, be sure to also install the "mental_ray_for_Autodesk_Maya_2015_SP3_Win.msp (msp - 36.08Mb)" which is also in the list where Maya Service Pack 3 install is.

Cheers,

David Santos

Hi - Thanks for getting back to me so promptly. I did download both service pack 3 and Mental Ray prior to download as instructed on the Autodesk subscription centre page.. I think they automatically installed when I went through the steps of installing Maya onto my computer. It does say SP3 on the Maya start up window. I am using Windows 7. The URL for the procedure I wish to copy is the following....

I really appreciate you getting back to me!

Thanks very much

Kind Regards

Hello Caoimhin,

I have gone through the steps outlined in the video you linked to and I am still not able to replicate the issue that you are experiencing. I am thinking that it is possible that you maybe experiencing issues with corrupt preferences. I would recommend setting the Maya preferences to default via the steps provided in the following link:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Reset-Maya...

I hope that is helpful,

Cheers,

if you create the sphere at the grid center then assign liquid then move it, will the container move with it.
