View and Save drawings

I'm a new student working on a floor plan with just the bathroom and kitchen. In my tutorial it tells me to me use the center view point to magnify the batroom area width then height. Then use the dynamic view and place the adjustible white line over to view the kitchen area. My challenge is after I make the dynamic adjustment to view the kitchen area, I have to use any view for the kitchen sink and the kitchen stove but save in one file which would be the kitchen file. When I go to view the sink,(pressed current file button and ok) it does not show the sink that was magnified, it shows the whole floor plan. The same problem with the stove view. Where did I go wrong?

Can you post the steps as written in the tutorial instead of you editorialized version?

Thanks but I figured it out. I was working in the wrong frame.....lol
