Tag dynamic block

I have a dynamic block created in ver 12 autocad I would like to add the beam designation as part of the block and update as I select different sizes. I have fought this for several days now. Would anyone know how to accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated.

When you change the visibility state it will automatically change the attributes name.
There is only one little problem I can’t seem to fix.
When you insert the block and give a parameter it will not automatically give the right visibility state.

Thank you very much. I was able to make the designation visible on all states. But for some reason I cannot duplicate what you did. When I create the attribute and this place a field I cannot get it to show. I may be getting to complicated

I don't really understand watch you mean.

I think I was confusing you. what you sent is what I needed. But I am having trouble duplicating the member tag in other blocks of my steel. I see what you did I just can't duplicate the attribute portion.

Are you applying a Field to the Attrib?

The one used is BlockPlaceHolder and it is using your Block Properties Table column named Designation.

I create a attribute definition in the default I  add field then under object pick "blockplaceholder" then pick "designation" hit ok and ok place tag save block and it doesn't show

Reinsert your block in Modelspace or run ATTSYNC on the DynBlk.
