Moving the block's insert grip point

I've got a tag block with a leader. I have stretching and moving options
working the way I want, except for one thing. I have a Point parameter
sitting on top of the insertion point of the block. I use that parameter to
move the tag without affecting the arrowhead point of the block. However,
the insertion grip remains in the original location.

Any ideas on how to lose the insertion grip?

Robert,

I've been meaning to ask this, but just haven't had the needed stimuli until
now...
You know how QLEADER allows you to attach a leader to a block INSERT as well
as MTEXT?
Yet with QLATTACH you can only attach a leader to an MTEXT entity. Correct?

Is there an easy way to attach a leader to an block INSERT? I'd find that
pretty useful at times, such as when I'd like to have multiple leaders from
a block. (Right now, about the closest I can seem to get is to group the
objects together, but it's a kludge.)

Also, I'm curious... can a DB be used as a modifiable custom dimension
arrowhead?
Wondering about a modifiable loop arrowhead, perhaps...

I don't know if this could be applied to your question, but thought I'd ask.

Best regards,
David Kozina

Have you added the Base point parameter and included it in the point parameter's action? If so, might have to take a look at it.

I thought about that, but I'm not sure how that would affect the insert
grip. I'll try and report back.

Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to worry about that, eh? ;^)

I haven't thought about a DBlock for a dim object. I'd imagine there is no
way to get to the grips.

Try changing the base point with the BASE command.

Changing the base of the current drawing is going to have no positive effect
on the inserts within that current drawing.

That worked! I guess I should have followed my 1st instinct to do that,
instead of "thinking" that wouldn't work.

Same thing happens to me, but glad that was it. Cheers!

Caramba! Now (in 2007 at least) QLATTACH DOES let you attach a leader to a
block insert.
No grouping kludge required now. 🙂
Sheewt, I wish I'd known about that sooner.

David Kozina
