Using Autocad LT2010 on Windows XP-64 bit with 8Gb RAM, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @ 2.66GHz.
Using Autocad LT 2010 (What I'm stuck with), I developed the attached block to do insulation.
Works MOST of the time, just every so often however I will drag out the stretch grip and it will crash Autocad LT.
When I say crash, I mean Autocad freezes up. When I check to see what is happening in the Windows Task Manager, I see the application is not responding, the available physical memory is steadily decreasing, the PF Usage is increasing at the same rate...I've got to Autocad using 7Gb of memory before I've given up!
Only way out is to terminate the application and start again.
Other than not using this block, or upgrading to LT2013 (the boss isn't going to buy it), any suggestions as to where this block is falling over?
Three things to do:
AUDIT the drawing file. The file did not report any errors here but take a look anyway.
-PURGE (note the Dash) and choose All.
-PURGE again but type REGAPPS where asked what types to Purge.
In both cases say No when asked to verify.
Save the file and see what happens.
I would also try a WBLOCK af the Block into a new drawing to see if that cleans it up.
Nice DynBLk by the way and it seems to work fine here.
And - I've been stuck with LT since it came out and the platform is not the issue.

Short answer is sometimes bad things happen to good blocks.
I was hoping that running thru the exercise above might weed out an issue with the block that otherwise may not be correctable (is that a word?) other than thru re-creation.
Yes I have had DynBlk's fail that I have been able to correct thru WBLOCK.
