DB help.. scale/move problem

I've attached the block..

WhatIi WANT is to be able to use the lower grip to scale the block, BUT
have the arrow head remain the same size.. sounds simple.. so what am
I missing??

They way it's set up right now .. it scales it all.. that's just the way
i saved it.. I've tried seperate move/scale actions.. seperate
param's.. including/not including actions in groups.. nothing i have
tried works 100%.

TIA.

The arrow was incuded in your scale action which which is why it was
scaling. Remove it from the scale action set and add it to its own move
action. (See attached)

that was already tried.. and does not work.

use the rotate lookup param.. THEN try to use the scale param.. the
arrow does NOT move with the arc.

any other ideas?

Add a point parameter (hide its grip), scale the point, and chain the arrow
(move) to the point.

ok.. only one question.. how do i chain the arrow to the others??..

All I have ever seen the "Chain: yes/no" option.. there is nothing
telling me what it is chained to..?

I see what you mean, and don't have a good answer. The attached block
handles the scale correctly (by setting the point parameters chain property
to yes), but throws off the arrow position after the rotation is invoked.
It rotates the arrow and then also moves it because it is chained.

The fundamental flaw is an inability to specify *what* to chain to. I think
you want it chained to the scale action but not to the rotation action, and
I see no way to specify that.

If it wasn't for the fact you're using a lookup parameter to make the rotations, I don't think this would be possible, but since you are, this should work...

nice!

thank you.. (didn't think of using a 2nd rotation on the arrow)..

as to why i'm using a look up param.. i couldn't think of any other way
to "fake" a dynamic arc.. (as that option does not exist).

Actually, you might want to consider the next option I just figured out. Glad I could help either way. Cheers!

right... that makes more sense.. (my original segmented block was when
i was planning on more than 90deg rotation.. but then i stopped at 90).

thank you yet again.

Yea, there should be a way to adjust the rotation percentage. That would make a big difference here. At least it's good enough for what you need.
