auto-number array in dynamic block

hi i"m trying to create a dynamic plan-staircase with step numbers the stairs are added by an array command and i could count the total number of stairs by dividing the total distance by width of step. but i want a number on each step ! (using autocad 2014)

I was looking at the block you created, but I do not really understand how you got the counting working. Could you maybe give a brief explaination? I see you created two Attribute Definitions but how are they related? Thanks!

Here is a simplified version just containing the count. It uses a nested block and a blocks ability to give its position within another block, the number is found using a simple field formula. The array distance is used to work out the number.

The 'fields' and the use of them were new to me. I can get it working now, thanks!

I came across this post and thought I'd give it a bump. I made this for our department so we can save some time. it's not too complicated.

Could you please explain the field process which you used? Im trying to make xfmr's that are number on there own if you stretch the dynamic block but I cannot get the numbers to change.

hi

there is nested block with attribute

attribute fave field with formula    object (circle) center X coordinate  divided by  array column offset value

Hi I tried the field directions but did not get anywhere as I have a rectangle and that is a circle. Is there anyway you could take a look at it for me and let me k now if it can be done?

Thank you. You make it look so easy. How do you know what formula to use?

hi!

Yes, it is not difficult, it is the simply arithmetic

You must think mathematically after use grips where will be nested block (it's base point coordinate) and what formula you must use to get necessary result

If you don't understand - ask - I'll try answer
