Wall hatch disappear when opening an autocad 2006 drawing in Trueview

Hello,

When I open an autocad 2006 drawing in Trueview 2011 the hatch of most wall do disappear. These walls are walls made in Architectural desktop.

Does someone have an answer for this?

Thanx,

Niels

Is it a custom hatch pattern or wall type that skews when trying to view these walls?  I would suggest upgrading the base file meaning open it in the 2010 platform product, save it and then trying it in TV.  If this still renders the same result I would suggest cleaning the drawing file up by way of running the following commands in the command prompt in the base file and then saving and then trying it in TrueView.

-PURGE   then select(R)

-PURGE   then select (A)

AUDIT   then select (Y)

You will then save the drawing file and use the following command to grab all the information out of the drawing file and insert into a new blank file to fulfill the cleanup procedure for the walls.  In some case I have seen that a second round of the above commands (purge/audit) after wblock has been performed.

I found many of the Object Enablers for AutoCAD also found and installed for DTV over the last few versions, start with the Arch/MEP and see if they do help:

Thanks, but it didn't work for me.

I'm not that familiar with Object Enablers.

We use Autocad (ADT) 2006 and trueview 2011.
I did install the Arch/MEP, but it said "Setup was unable to detect any target applications for Autocad Architecture-MEP 2011Object Enabler".

The hatch that do disappear when I open an an ADT 2006 drawing in Trueview 2011 are the ADT wall hatches. I can see teh solids, but not the patterns.

Maybe you're able to help me with this?

Thanx,

Niels

Add:

It's like Trueview doesn't recognize the hatch patterns out of my ADT 2006 drawing.

Then I suspect you are out of luck: DTV is not fully capable to handle ALL verticals content. Other than making sure PROXYOBJECTS is turned on in your ADT product there is not much to do unless you want to get rid of your AEC content.

Post a sample ADT DWG file here and perhaps the developer team can suggest a fix if any, or add a fix to the next version(s).

Hhmm, I can't see any wall hatches in AutoCAD 2011 either.

I too at first did not see any hatching in the walls.  The only way to regain this visual style to the walls was for me to copy the contents of the drawing file after cleaning as previously mentioned and then copied into a new blank file.  This can be seen in the video link below.  This means there is a conflict within your drawing and the recommendation stands to clean the drawing file up, then copy the contents and paste into a new clean blank drawing file to fully clean out corruption and/or compromised components of the base drawing.

Thank you!

It worked!
But the shame is there is probably something wrongs with all our drawings. So before we can use them in DTV we need to copy/paste them all in a blank drawing.

Beste regards,

Niels
