Why no pre-release hoopla like all the other products, you know, new
features list and the like?

You can with the latest version of Volo View, the purchased version, with a
plug-in. Not sure about VVE:

Probably because there is nothing new, or it really does not work and they
are frantically trying to get patches completed before we all dive in.... 😉
