Terminal Server

Has anyone used Volo View Express on Microsoft Windows 2000 Terminal Server? We have 2 Terminal Server Client computers that use Volo View Express and they share an HP Laserjet 1200 printer connected to an HP JetDirect over the network. They can print one time from VVE and then nothing else will print. It goes through the normal motions of printing but no output. All other applications still print as normal. Is there a compatibility issue with VVE and TS?

Is there a way to get VoloView to run off a terminal server?

People have tried, but I think they ran into registry problems. In addition,
Volo View is not licensed to run this way. It wasn't such a big deal for
Volo View Express, because that was free, but Autodesk expects you to pay
$49 per seat to view DWG files. This is the low cost alternative to $2800 a
seat for AutoCAD. If you want free, Autodesk expects you to generate DWF
files.

Supposedly, there will be a stripped down "free" version for AIS. It was
supposed to shipped with the product, but will eventually be availble for
download. I beleive we are going to be allowed to distruibute that version
throughout our company.

Yes. they are also making one that accompanies Buzzsaw. It relies on
ProjectPoint.exe and won't work without it. So my guess is that they will
use the same strategy for AIS. It can be distributed freely because it will
rely on AIS. It would be nice if they would simply tell us when both of
these will be available -- which was your original question.
