Saving Drawing Layers as Individual Files

Hi,

I am new to TrueView and wondered if I could get some advice?

I have a drawing with 30 layers. I want to save each individual layer as a drawing.

Can I do this in TrueView? Or do I need CAD??

I want to save them as drawing because later I want to go back through and take dimensions of the pipes (which I cant do if I plot them to PDF).

Thanks in advance.

There is the ability to Freeze and Turnoff layers.

You could go thru and do one or the other to each drawing and save it with only those Layers you want visible.

Too bad Layer Isolate (LAYISO) is not avaialble in the Menu as that would be a quick way to do this.

Sounds great, thanks!!

One further question.... How do I save as a DWG with a different title when I have tuned off the layers I don't want to show?

The only options I seem to have are Convert, Plot and Batch Plot?

I noticed I can plot to file but none of the file types are DWG.

Thanks again.

Yep I think that would be the limitation to your quest.

Where are you getting these Drawing Files?

You can export to DWF and use Autodesk Design Review to measure.

Though this is getting to be a chore at this point in something that should be easy.
