DXF conversion

We have a customer who is sending us DXF files that we are unable to read as we have not upgraded our AutoCAD.  We are unable to upgrade at this time.  Is there a way in TrueView to convert a DXF to lower versions of AutoCAD?  If not, does anyone know of a utility to do so?  We do not want to go back to the customer and ask them to resend all of their files if we do not have to.

Thank you in advance,

Paul Silzle

It's best to "fess up" to your client and ask for a lower version of DXF: it's a volatile format to start with and adding a third party translator can make it worse.

It not, there are many DXF conversion tools you can buy and use: try a Google search.

Unfortunately not, it will let you convert DWG's to earlier versions but not DXF i'm afraid.

I'd simply set up protocols with the client for exchange formats, agree how you will distribute the data, in what formats etc then you wont have the heartache of having to convert.
