DWF Layer Colors

I have asked this question in the past, but have not gotten a response that
I can work with. What I would like to do is this:

1. I have a layer (MyLayer) in a dwf file with a single solid hatch
contained on the layer.
2. I would like to change the color of the solid hatch (or layer) from its
current color to red.
3. I would be using VBA or VB as a programming language
4. It was suggested that I might be able to copy the geometry to a new layer
with a color of red, but I was unable to get an example of how to accomplish
this.

I'm not trying to create a new CAD program here, I'm just trying to add the
ability to highlight certain aspects of a DWF file. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
