Download DWG Trueview 2009?

Hi All, maybe I'm just impatient, but according to Autodesk, Shaan Hurley and others, I'm supposed to be able to download TV 2009 today. The write up seems to indicate the new features of TV 2009, but the download button gives you the old 2008 build from December. It's not TrueView 2009. Any help here yet?

I think Shaan was talking about the free 30-day trials of AutoCAD 2009 and
AutoCAD LT 2009. I know when you see the word "free" and CAD, you think DWG
TrueView, but I don't think DWG TrueView 2009 has been posted yet.

Well, maybe I read a little too much "between the lines" ; ).
I was really putting information from the blog posting (3/24) together with the info from the posting from the 25th. Anyway, I'll be patient Scott - I've been waiting about two years for the features TV09 will have already - a few more days won't hurt me!

Hey Scott .......
I know we've been down this road before but.....
I know Trueview 2009 will now have Measure (Hurray !)
and its a free product ! This is outstanding !
But my needs are for it to also have Mark-Up.
Will they (Pray) have a PAY VERSION (I'd glady pay for it)
in the near future ? (I know all about Design Review, but the conversion process and the DWF conversion is just time consuming, extra steps, and confusion for the uninformed)
I would think my company wouldn't mind paying $99 - $299
range for a single use copy .
Please pass this on ........I HATE to think of buying non Autodesk
products just to get the Mark-Up feature.

Have a Great Day !

Thanks Scott for the reply.

My job at the company is Facilities management and space planning at this
time
around 12 large offices. These offices are constantly changing, so I do all
the changes in AutoCAD.
These DWG files are located on central servers and are available to view
by many managers
site managers and directors., none of which have a clue about CAD let alone
what a DWF file is.
I've DL'd Trueview 2009 , and Wow I am impressed ! I've been reviewing
6-8 other dwg viewers
all of which have Measure and Mark Up which is what is needed for our
company. Since none of these drawings
will be "Sent-Out" to outside companies there is no need for the security of
the DWF.
I've been an AutoCAD user since ver.10 and an AutoDesk Viewer for almost
as long (Can't seem to remember the first
viewer, before VoloView I know !
I guess to answer your question, The office sites would review the DWG
files, measure areas, markup areas needing
changed, send me the markup files,or get them off the server, and I would
review make the changes, and start over until
the project is completed.
Like I said I'm really impressed with Trueview 2009 ......it loads files
much faster than any other program that I reviewed !
and I have been approved to BUY what is needed to do this ! I mentioned a
price range in the $99 - $299 per seat .
I can't imagine any company not willing to pay this small amount for a
dependable true AutoDesk product to do this.
and to honest ....... these other programs just frustrated the @#*! out of
me !!!!
I know you may be thinking just buy them a bunch of AutoCAD-LT to do all
this........Well I have been told . NO-Way !

Ok enough for now...If you need more info please let me know .......... I
can get you an E-Mail somehow if necessary

Thanks so much Scott !
Ron

So you don't mind that the markup comments are intermingled with the real
geometry that is in your DWG? DO you want the measurements and comments on
their own layer? The way it works now, Autodesk DWG TrueView 2009 opens the
DWG files as read-only.

I'd like the DWF ability... instead of needing to plot, start up a whole new apps and then markup... which is cumbersome for average users.... I'd rather see the markups be done right in Trueview and then have the ability to put those markups into the DWG as a DWF overlay/underlay..... I'd even settle for a save routine inside DWG Truview to in reality just print a DWF for the user... with markups included. Without the need for a second app to create those markups.

Multiple apps are cumbersome for average users and in my experience... they just don't use em... they'd rather have our drafters save in an older format and use voloview before having to use two, albiet better, applications.
