Ron,
Working in FM myself, I know the wanting to keep everything in DWG for
simplicity's sake. We used to have everyone with VoloView Express on
their machines for viewing and printing, but, we had one seat in the
middle of the campus where the guys could use... ?AutoVue? for markups.
Currently we're using Bentley Viewer for viewing, but, I'll be starting
to switch the guys over to TrueView when they get new PC's, since it can
finally measure.
If I were to have them do markups, it would be via FMDesktop's interface.
I know it still involves converting to DWF's to import into that
program, but, I have very little that needs to be in there... just the
space plans and the MEPFP base for each floor. The remainder of my
project files will only be available in DWG, but, they shouldn't need to
mark those up anyway, since they're pretty much archives instead of
working drawings.
It's just always nice to see how other FM'ers exchange information with
their non-CAD users. Thanks for posting. 🙂
Cheers!
Melanie Perry
