Batch Plot Name Change

I have been using the batch plot to plot to convert around 200 dwgs to pdfs. So far so good, however

 

 

I was given a bunch of files with a . in their name such as  sample.drawing.dwg and the plotter converts this to sample_drawing.pdf.

 

Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I told the guy who uploaded not to use a . in the name as it causes problems, but he ignored me. Shucks
