IE6 Locks up when viewing DWF's over internet

When trying to view DWF files over the internet, ExpressViewer locks up completely. The viewer toolbars & background screen appears but no image does. But, when I load DWF's locally (from a network or C: drive) they load & view, print properly. My internet access is through a proxy server. Has anyone had this problem before. I suspect proxy settings or security settings with IE 6.0
Any Ideas ? Thanks

There is a possibility that your issues have been
fixed. Many fixes have gone into 4.0. It can't hurt. Even if you wish to file a
bug report, Autodesk will ask you "Have you downloaded the latest version?"
first, so you might as well get it over with and try 4.0 first.

When you say the DWF files are on the internet, do
you mean they are publicly accessible?  If so, could you please post a link
to your DWF site so that others may reproduce the issue?

The files that I have posted are on a proprietary intranet website for our internal use.
Company personnel are the only ones that have access, so I can't open it up to the public.
These files (along with PDFs) are posted on this website for viewing, etc, for information purposes. I upload these files to a server for viewing.

The PDFs view & print fine, it's just the DWF's that are giving me the problems.

But.....
I started to think that this was an internal thing, specific to that web site, so I tried viewing the DWF samples posted on the Autodesk website.
I get the same results, even when upgrading to EV 4.0 (I did that this morning as suggested by Scott)
I have tried this on other workstations here within the company and I get the same results.

As described below, I am able to read, display, print any DWF file that resides locally (C: or network drive)
If it's proxy settings, or IE6.0 security settings it will be a fairly simple fix....I hope.
Maybe I'm looking at an elephant under a microscope and can't make out what it is.....

Normally when you can view a file locally but can't
view the file on a web server, it is the MIME type settings. The file comes from
the server to the client machine and Internet Explorer on the client machine
doesn't know which ActiveX Control to activate. When AEV is installed on a
client machine, it associates the drawing/x-dwf MIME type with AEV. When the
server issues the file and the drawing/x-dwf MIME type, then IE knows what to
do. I believe image/vnd.dwf also works as a supported MIME type. Someone will
correct me if this is wrong.

Hello,
It seems that we have solved the problem.
We needed to install the Microsoft Proxy Client on my PC.
The internet settings need to be changed in IE6 by making sure the "HTTP 1.1 through proxy settings" is active.
This prevents Network Password Dialogs from popping up.
