Dwf into a PowerPoint presentation

Hello all,

This isn't a huge problem, but something I noticed. I figured that, seeing
as you can copy your screen view of your dwf and paste into Word (one of the
tips on the AutoDesk website) by selecting 'Copy' or Edit-->Copy, you might
be able to do the same into PowerPoint (which is very useful for us as we're
putting together a digital portfolio which includes our AutoCAD drawings).

I have discovered that the paste command in PowerPoint often brings in what
looks like an image of the Acrobat pdf icon (no, I hadn't selected that
image at all, only the dwf image). This happens with both the right-click
paste and the edit-->paste options in PowerPoint. But I have noticed if I go
back to the dwf drawing and re-select copy, the image will paste into the
PowerPoint slide fine. It seems to only occur on the first instance of
trying to paste.

As I said, not a huge problem as I am persistant in trying to get it to
work, but I can see some people giving up and reverting to pdf files to get
their AutoCAD drawings into PowerPoint presentations.

I have PowerPoint 2002 (part of Office 2002), AutoCAD Map 2004 and AutoDesk
Express Viewer ver 3.2 (Build version 3.1.0.92 - it updated today). Oh, and
I tested it out with the dwf that Mathews posted earlier today.

Just thought you might like to know!
Natasha 🙂

Natasha,

Thanks for posting this issue. I was just playing around trying to
duplicate the issue and I found that it doesn't happen all the time for me;
however, when it does, you are correct that it takes another copy to make it
work correctly.

We are looking into this.

Thanks,
Tony
