Batch Converter DWG -> DWF

Anyone aware of any free batch converter out there that will convert dwg to dwf? I found some batch converters, but none for free.

AutoCAD does it, it's 'free' if you already use it: or do you not have that?
Almost nothing that handles DWG files is free, unless they illegally reverse
engineer the format. Everyone pays royalty fees.

To answer your question, the publish command in
R2004 will allow you to batch plot dwgs to dwf. If you don't have R2004 the
script-pro with the migration tools will let you create a script to plot to
dwfs.

Right click the model.name in the dialog and it
lets you rename. Don't know of any automatic way to do them.

Well, im going to be batch converting hundreds of dwg's to dwf's, so that certain people at my company can only view the drawings without touching my actual dwg. The batch converter works good, i found out how to specify a different directory it will put them in. However, I can not figure out how to make the file name what the actual dwg name is. It keeps putting the -layout.dwf instead. I found out how to rename just 1 files in the program, but no more than that.

If we cant do it, then we will have to just live with the -model.dwf. I was just wondering if any of you can help me out.

Thanks

One thing you might want to tackle is creating a
layout and rename it to the dwg name and just dwf those layouts.

Well, I didn't reply because you asked for a "free"
version, but you can download a 30 day trial version of AutoM8 from
href="http://www.m8tools.com">www.m8tools.com
and it's even very inexpensive
to purchase. We use it for *exactly* what you're doing. It runs inside AutoCAD
and is very fast! Besides automatically opening all selected drawings and
plotting them as dwf files, it names them the same as the drawing, without the
-layout suffixes. It also allows you to run commands at each open - we have ours
do a zoom extents on every drawing before creating each dwf. You can also
specify which folders to put them in.

It will do everything exactly how you
want.
