Unsupported File Type ERROR Message

We are using Livelink (web base document management system) to store all types of documents - office, project, as well as ".dwf" files.

The problem arrises when trying to view a document from within the Livelink system. Like many dynamic web systems, it appends a host of parameters onto the end of the URL to make it really long... When a user tries to view the file, they get an error message that states "Error. Unsupported file Type".. Cancel or Continue are the two choices.

The resulting URL looks like this... "http://HOSTNAME/livelink/livelink/852168/Big_Piney_Map.dwf?func=doc.Fetch&nodeid=852168"

I assume it's the fact that the URL ends in 852168 rather than ".dwf" that it ~thinks~ the file is of the wrong type.

When downloaded from the Livelink server to the desktop, the file views perfectly..

Thoughts on how we can get it to ignore the fact that it ~thinks~ the file is of the wrong type?

Does this happen with the new express viewer
release?

I'm currently running Autodesk Express viewer 3.1
Build number is: 3.1.0.78

I've attempted to do the "auto update" function.. I stated that there is an update available but returns an error "Express viewer encountered an error when attempting to update"

I am assuming that you have asked OpenText (makers of LiveLink) to create
the hook that allows LiveLink to view a file with a DWF extension with
whatever application (in this case the express viewer)? We originally had
the same problem with PDf, DWG, etc... and had to go in and modify LiveLink,
not the unknown app.
