Get EV install package for redist.

Sorry for the blank post under this one-fumble fingers.

So ADesk has rearranged the site once again, and you now can't save the EV download and install seperately, it just installs itself to your machine when you click "Download" (bad practice - AD webmaster, when you give a "Download" choice, that does NOT mean "I'm gonna download and INSTALL an ActiveX control"). I need the EV package redist as I'm distributing .DWF's on a CD to people in the field without Net access. Wandered around the ftp site for awhile with no success. Where is it?

Found it-use these helpfile instructions:
-------------------------------------------------

Referencing the viewer from the Autodesk website

You can reference the Autodesk Express Viewer control from the Autodesk website using the CODEBASE parameter. When you use the CODEBASE parameter, the user will be prompted to download or install the viewer if the viewer is not already installed on the local machine. Use the "Src" property in the tag to specify a drawing file to load:

classid="clsid:A662DA7E-CCB7-4743-B71A-D817F6D575DF"
CODEBASE="http://www.autodesk.com/global/expressviewer/installer/ExpressViewerSetup.cab">

-------------------------------------------------------
if you cut & paste the URL for expressviewersetup.cab into IE, it'll download, then you can use WinZip to get the .EXE out of it.

geezus, this browser interface is so LITERAL! it took my reply and actually executed it! Anyway, what I was trying to say was, if you want to DOWNLOAD EV and NOT install it, open the helpfile and find the "Embedding Autodesk Express Viewer in an HTML File" sub-topic. Then click the "Referencing the viewer from the Autodesk website" link. Cut & paste the URL after CODEBASE= and EV will download. (can't put the URL in this message or IE will execute it!!) Use WinZip to crack the .CAB and get the .EXE out. Whew.

If you go to the _new_ download page (the one that uses an auto-install CAB
file that installs on your machine) there is still a little tiny link on the
page that says "manually download".

If you follow the "manually download" link, you'll end up getting the latest
version of the AEV EXE installer.

Also, the instructions for the CAB auto-installer aren't as complete as they
should be. Those instructions don't describe the optional "version"
parameter. With the version prarameter you can specify the minimum require
version of the viewer that people must have. If they already have a version
newer than the version parameter, they are not forced to download the
viewer.

To see a good example of the version tag, go to the Autodesk AEV download
page and do a "View Source" in your web browser. It will show you a more
complete example of using the Object tags:

id=Eview
codeBase=http://www.autodesk.com/global/expressviewer/installer/ExpressViewe
rSetup.cab#version=3,1,0,78
classid=clsid:A662DA7E-CCB7-4743-B71A-D817F6D575DF
width=470
height=355>

VALUE="http://www.autodesk.com/global/expressviewer/installer/sample.dwf">

VALUE="?backcolor='12500670'&layersoff='()'&layerson='()'&notify
missingfonts='true'&papervisible='true'&view=''">
