Though my reply will be of no help, let me assure you that it is not
something you are doing wrong. At Buzzsaw we tried to use AutoCAD to serve
up PNG images of DWG files, a la MapQuest, and AutoCAD did the same thing
for us. The new Buzzsaw (aka ProjectPoint) has an index server that indexes
the contents of drawings as they are uploaded to the server. We were able to
get ObjectDBX to run on a server for this purpose, but not AutoCAD.
