Discussion Groups. Autodesk needs to make a software upgrade!!!!

I have been posting for help on V.V and Express Viewer over the last week. Autodesk needs to spend a little of their profits and improve the software they host discussion groups. I have been a member of multiple discussion groups over the last three years, and this interface is gone the way of the x386 PC. Anyone out there still using AutoCAD12. Can I search Threads to see what other power users are saying. Can I see quickly who has posted to my threads. Do I get email notification when someone posts to my thread. How many clicks does it take to jump between ridiculous. I make get blacklisted for this but has anyone at Autodesk surfed the SolidEdge or SolidWorks Discussion Groups. There is alot more chatter, and I think I know why.

I am using Outlook Newsreader. Are you using the
browser version?

I'm sure you mean "Outlook Express" newsreader, as
there is no "Outlook" newsreader (a bit of an annoyance, to say the
least).

I am using Explorer. Maybe Outlook Newsreader is better. All I know is there are 10 things that are terrible about this interface, not the least of which are no search and no user post counter. How do I tell if an expert with 100 posts is giving advise, or some highschool wiz that just got an email account.

I suppose it's whatever turns you on. Using Agent,I can search all I
want, and it's _very_ fast. Some other software I use has only
web-based groups and they are a real pain.

With Netscape I can do all you wish below except get email
notification of my post's answers. We do not offer that feature
at this time. Most NNTP newsgroup readers easily offer what you
want.

We average over a half million messages a year - quite a bit of
chatter!

At http://discussion.autodesk.com/ you can search the newsgroups
for previously posted questions. Put keywords in the blank box
and then chose search for "last 3 days, last 2 weeks, last 3
months or all". Search will bring up a list of newsgroup messages
matching the text you provide in the search box. By using the
Autodesk server search engine you will be searching all available
messages not just those on your local newsgroup cache.

Put in the specific words as the search words and chose All for
the time length of the search. Clicking on an individual topic
listed in the search findings will spread out the messages in
that topic in a tree formation. The topics are listed by date
with the newest date at the top.

Hope this helps you in future questions.
