I'm looking for tips on 3D shoe design. The curvature is somewhat difficult and I'm wondering what the best approache would be. I know most of the commands for 3D creation, but it requires serious skill to design a sole or base of a shoe with all the curves and changes in it.
Any advice from experience or know how would be great.

Start with the appropriate software. I'd look into the Entertainment products such as Mudbox, which provide the necessary complex modeling tools. You might also look into Fusion 360, since it is built with an eye towards rapid prototyping.
